Love your heart  every week with a bit of dark chocolate! Natural cocoa is high in heart-healthy compounds that improve blood flow, lower blood pressure and decrease the risk of blood clots. But what’s the most important thing to remember about eating chocolate? Both what kind (dark chocolate at least 70% cocoa) and how much  (one one-inch square a day) make a big difference to its protective benefits.

Dark chocolate opens the way to your heart. In a University of California study in 2004, dark chocolate consumption was found to improve blood flow by increasing dilation of the brachial artery; and keeping arteries open is critical to protecting your heart. Why is chocolate so good at this? Dark chocolate—at least 70% cocoa solids— is rich in flavonoids, powerful antioxidants that neutralize free radical molecules, which if left unchecked can damage the linings inside arteries and lead to atherosclerosis and inflammation.

2. Dark chocolate soothes your heart. Too much sugary chocolate candy will lead to an inflamed and damaged heart but dark chocolate tames your blood pressure. In a study published in the March 2005 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, people who ate small quantities of dark chocolate every day for 15 days showed a significant reduction in their systolic blood pressure. (Systolic blood pressure is indicated by the first number in a blood pressure reading.) Keeping blood pressure low  is vital to reducing the risk of heart attack and sustaining healthy, flexible arteries.

Cocoa beans thin the blood. Arteries clogged with plaque and clots put you at serious risk of heart attack. In a 2006 study based at Johns Hopkins University, people who ate a small amount of dark chocolate every day showed a reduced risk of blood clots—and therefore a reduced risk for heart attack or stroke. Researchers concluded that chemicals in cocoa beans act much like the chemicals in aspirin when it comes to “thinning” blood, inhibiting clotting and reducing the risk for heart attack.

Stay away from chocolate candy! Consuming large quantities of chocolate candy will only add to your woes: high in fat, sugar and calories, you risk weight gain and metabolic disorders like insulin resistance and diabetes with too many sweets in your diet. And the high dairy content of milk chocolate robs the cocoa of its antioxidant properties; it’s the bitterness in dark chocolate that indicates the presence of heart-healthy flavonoids.

. For a special  treat, pop a little square  of dark chocolate into your mouth and let it slowly melt. Eat a morsel, about 1-inch square,  just a few times a week. It’s still like candy; to be exact it’s about the equivalent of half a standard-sized candy bar a week. Consider shaving a little dark chocolate into plain yogurt or add a few dark chocolate bits into mixed nuts for a heart-healthy treat without overdoing it.

How to Prepare Delicious Lobster Rolls

The fresh seafood counts so many things out of which lobster stands on the top. These days there are so many new inclusions, but the one and only lobster when being prepared with care and innovation just mesmerizes the food lovers.

It looks great when it is taken from the sea bed. It looks more beautiful and appetizing as it gets cooked by a connoisseur.

Sometimes it is cooked as a whole (i.e. without the shells being cracked) while sometimes it is cooked by taking the meat from out of its claws, knuckles and tails. Likewise lobster roll is another menu which you barely say no at your meal.

Method for preparing the lobster rolls for 6 persons is as follows:

Ingredients Required

1. 3 pounds live lobster
2. 3 cucumbers finely diced
3. 1/2 cup bottled mayonnaise
4. 1 tablespoon tarragon
5. 4 small scallions, thinly sliced
6. Sea salt as per the taste
7. Freshly ground pepper
8. 6 hot dog buns
9. 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
10. 4 tablespoons chopped capsicums

Preparation

The first part is the boiling process. Put a handful of salt into the pot of boiling water and put the lobster in it after tying the claws with a thread; boil the live lobsters in the boiling water until the joints come off easily. Keep the lobster in the boiling for half and hour to an hour depending on the quantity of the lobster. If they are boiled too long, the flesh becomes tough.

When it is done, take them out of the pot and put them on a table to dry. Keep them at the coolest room temperature.

By using a cleaver crack and remove the meat from the claws, knuckles and tails; remove the cartilage from the claws and the intestines from the tails also.

Now give some oil in the skillet and medium-fry the chopped capsicum. Keep them aside.

Have the extra cucumber liquid dried out from them by placing them for 5 minutes into a colander. Now fuse together the lobster, cucumber mayonnaise, tarragon and the scallions. Cover them in a food foil and chill them for about 30 minutes to an hour.

After that, coat the buns with the unsalted butter from both the sides and place them on the heated frying pan and toast them until they are light brown in color on both the sides. Once they are ready, put the chilled lobster stuff inside the buns.

It’s time to serve the lobster rolls. Place them with an accompaniment of potato chips, prickle, sliced tomatoes and a drizzle of fried capsicum.
